Gov. Kate Brown announces Oregonians age 65+ and teachers can get vaccinated against COVID-19 starting Jan. 23 – OregonLive

Under pressure from federal officials, Gov. Kate Brown announced Tuesday that she’ll allow all Oregonians 65 and older to be eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations starting Jan. 23 -- at least a month earlier than expected. On her own accord, Brown also said she would allow childcare, preschool and K-12 school employees to start receiving vaccinations the same day, triggering what will be an unprecedented wave of people seeking vaccinations in a state that has struggled to administer shots quickly. Brown’s decision to expand vaccinations to older Oregonians came in response to urging from U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who earlier in the day said all states should start vaccinating Americans who are 65 or older and people with underlying conditions that put them at highe...

Aaron Rodgers to serve as guest host on ‘Jeopardy!’ – Washington Post

A few months after Rodgers won his second NFL MVP award in 2015, he was a contestant on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” and proved he was capable of dominating the competition in that arena, too. The Super Bowl winner dispatched former astronaut Mark Kelly — now a United States senator — and “Shark Tank” entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary en route to winning $50,000 for his charity of choice, the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer). Now Rodgers will be seeking the right questions from others, a development he revealed earlier Tuesday during an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show.” Later that day, the 37-year-old quarterback apologized to “Jeopardy!” producers for possibly having “jumped the gun a little bit” with his impromptu announcement. “I just got so excited on the show earlier,” R...

Christina Anstead reveals new Maya Angelou-inspired back tattoo amid split from husband Ant: ‘Still I Rise’ – Fox News

Christina Anstead is taking a page from Maya Angelou in the way she’s navigating life in 2021. The "Flip or Flop" star, who filed for divorce from her second husband, Ant Anstead, in November after less than two years of marriage, revealed some new ink to her fans on Tuesday via Instagram that featured the famed poet’s famous words, "Still I Rise." "Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise. Still I Rise," the 37-year-old captioned the inspiring social media post on Tuesday as she showcased her new tattoo, written in script down the middle of her back. The mother of three also credited the late Angelou, who died in May 2014, for the words spoken by the civil rights and women’s activist. CHRISTINA ANSTEAD REFLECTS ON LE...

Drinking one small glass of wine a day could lead to heart problems, study finds – Insider – INSIDER

A li New research found drinking one small glass of wine or beer a day could lead to heart problems down the line. The largest study on alcohol consumption and atrial fibrillation (AFib) found people who consume one drink a day are 16% more likely to develop AFib.  Those who develop AFib, an irregular heartbeat, have a higher risk of strokes and heart failure.  The findings directly challenge the idea that alcohol consumption in moderation has preventative qualities like improving heart health.  Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. US health officials recommend men drink no more than two drinks a day and women drink no more than one drink a day to avoid the dangerous side effects of long-term binge drinking like heart disease, high blood pressure...

Marvel Future Is Planned For the Next 5 to 6 Years – – /FILM

One of Marvel Studios‘ biggest achievements is the meticulous planning that has gone into its cinematic universe right from the start. It’s why other studios’ attempts to replicate that success have failed (RIP Dark Universe), and why Marvel is going strong even after it reached its, well, Endgame. Already, Marvel has the next few years lined up with theatrical releases and Disney+ shows. But with the pandemic throwing a wrench in the carefully curated works, how much of a buffer could Marvel Studios have? At least 5 to 6 years worth, according to Marvel chief Kevin Feige. In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige revealed that Marvel has always followed a formula for planning its slate of fil...

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers says hell be a Jeopardy! guest host – ESPN

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Aaron Rodgers is making a return to "Jeopardy!" This time, however, the Green Bay Packers quarterback will be the host instead of a contestant. Rodgers, who is preparing for Saturday's NFC divisional playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams, first mentioned it during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He later apologized for letting the news out. 2 RelatedA representative from "Jeopardy!'' declined to comment and said no announcement has been made about future guest hosts.
