Do dogs spread coronavirus? Spanish study finds owners have 78% higher risk of catching it – Daily Mail

The first dog in the world to catch coronavirus died after it was declared disease-free and returned home to its owner in Hong Kong. The owner of the 17-year-old Pomeranian, whose a...

Superspreader event in Wynwood sign of the times as to why COVID-19 cases are rising – WPLG Local 10

MIAMI, Fla. – Hundreds of people were packed in side by side Saturday night at an outdoor concert in Wynwood. They were there to see Jamaican dance-hall artist Shenseea performing, but without any obvious enforcement of COVID-19 social distancing rules. It is one example of why experts believe that South Florida, among other places around the country, are speeding toward an unsettling peak in coronavirus cases. On Local 10′s Sunday news program, “This Week in South Florida,” Aileen Marty, M.D., professor of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, said doctors on the frontlines are already seeing a disturbing trend. “More than anything, it comes down to people not adhering to the simple public heath requests and a false sense of s...

Rule of the jungle: Health expert sounds the alarm on fair access to Covid vaccines – CNBC

LONDON — High-income countries have adopted an approach akin to the "rule of the jungle" when it comes to securing supplies of prospective coronavirus vaccines, according to an expert in global health, governance, and infectious diseases. It is likely to have significant repercussions for the volume of vaccines available for low-income countries in the coming months, Suerie Moon, co-director of the Global Health Centre at the Graduate of Institute of Geneva, told CNBC Monday. There is growing optimism that a coronavirus vaccine could help bring an end to the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed over 1.31 million lives worldwide. Passage, who is married to the series’ namesake “Tiger King” zookeeper Joe Exotic, was arrested by the Manor Police Department after failing a sobriety test. According to the arrest affidavit, Passage told the officer he had just left the Domain restaurant 77 Degrees Rooftop Patio Bar and admitted he’d had three Modelo beers. The officer said Passage told him he “may be a bit intoxicated.” The officer says Passage also believed he was in the city of Belton, despite the stop taking place in Manor — Google Maps indicates the two cities are about 50 minutes t...

Ellen DeGeneres thanked her staff and fans for sticking by her throughout a tumultuous year while accepting an award for best daytime talk show at the E! From deep, deep down in my heart, I thank you,” she began. “I am not only accepting this award for myself, I’m accepting it on behalf of my amazing crew, my staff who make the show possible.
