Prince William Reacts to BBC Investigation Into Infamous Princess Diana Interview – E! NEWS

Prince William is weighing in after a BBC reporter was accused of forging documents in order to secure an explosive interview with Princess Diana in 1995.  Journalist Martin Bashir allegedly used fake bank statements to persuade Diana to agree to be interviewed for BBC Panorama. The accusations caused the media organization to hire independent investigators to "get to the truth" of the infamous royal interview, appointing former Supreme Court judge Lord Dyson to lead the mission. The Duke of Cambridge is said to be "tentatively" welcoming the investigation. In a statement released by Kensington Palace and obtained by E! News on Nov. 18, Prince William said, "The independent investigation is a step in the right direction." The 38-year-old dad added, "It should help establish the trut...

Newlyweds Express Regret As Superspreader Weddings Continue To Fuel Outbreaks – HuffPost

Despite months-long efforts to curb public gatherings, health officials across the country still report new coronavirus outbreaks linked to large weddings, including a recent one in Washington state that drew more than 300 people. Health officials in Grant County said Monday they are working to notify hundreds who attended the superspreader event near Ritzville, southwest of Spokane, of their need to self-quarantine for two weeks as cases linked to the Nov. 7 nuptials continue to rise. As of Tuesday evening, nearly 40 people who attended the wedding have tested positive for COVID-19 in the county. Those cases, in turn, have been linked to two subsequent outbreaks in the area, as well spikes in positive tests for the coronavirus at a long-term care facility and within a school distri...

Airport COVID-19 symptom screening ‘ineffective,’ CDC report says – Fox News

Efforts to screen travelers arriving in the U.S. for COVID-19 were more trouble than they were worth, according to a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report. The CDC, with help from the Department of Homeland Security, screened passengers arriving at airports from some hard-hit countries between January and September. Officials screened more than 766,000 passengers, but ultimately only 35 travelers were tested for the coronavirus and just nine tested positive. That’s just one positive case per 85,000 travelers screened. And officials were missing contact information for “a substantial proportion” of the screened travelers. The new report, published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, found that the program was “resource-intensive” despite providing a low ...

Royals expert weighs in on Prince Charles succession drama – Page Six

Whilst the rabble goes to hell, the royals go to hotels. Prince Charles and Camilla the missus dug in last weekend at the Adlon in Berlin. Listen, we all understand that a break’s needed from a castle’s household drudgery. So exhausting jumping over that moat and everything. Michael Jackson once dangled his baby over the balcony of an Adlon room. Also, be it known, the historic hotel opened 1907 under the watch of Charles’ first cousin thrice removed, Kaiser Wilhelm II. Now, causing Brits to flap those stiff upper lips is Lady Colin Campbell, who’s done books on Diana plus Prince Harry and his me-me-Meghan. Closer to royals than their jewelers, she gives Netflix episodes of “The Crown” a royal flush. “Prince Charles’ succession cannot be trampled. No stepping aside. Right of...

Per her original Big Machine contract, Swift can re-record all her old masters as of early this month. Promising "plenty of surprises in store," Swift says she recently began this process. But, assuming she follows through, what can we expect? Never mind that the 30-year-old megastar will no longer sound like the hungry and empathetic teenager she was when she first sang "15." (Although today's Taylor Swift may do a better job of imitating, say, 1989-era Taylor Swift.) How will she drive listeners to stream the new versions of her songs when classics like 2014's "Blank Space" have drawn nearly 2.7 billion YouTube views and more than 436 million Spotify plays? While her passionate fans have pledged to support her here (“We all will be deleting all of her old music from our playlists and ap...
