2ND UPDATE, 2:55 PM: FilmLA has issued a statement to Deadline about why it quickly rescinded an earlier order that restricted after-hours filming in Los Angeles: “FilmLA takes its direction on film policy from the government clients we contract with. The County and City each reversed their directives, originally issued around 7 pm on 11/25, today at around 1 pm.  As municipal partners announce changes in protocol related to COVID-19 or anything else, we do our best to share that news and keep the Industry informed. Los Angeles County is facing its most harrowing coronavirus numbers ever as the pandemic continues its record-shattering rampage through California and officials weigh further restrictions on activities and social gatherings. Daily infections in the county have quadrupled and daily deaths have tripled in a matter of weeks, a rate of growth that’s led to “the most alarming metrics we’ve ever seen,” according to Barbara Ferrer, the county’s director of public health. “The risk at this point is that overwhelming the healthcare system is now a very real possibility,” she told the L.A. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine previously said guidance for residents living in areas with the highest warning is to stay home except for necessary travel to get supplies and services. Given the exponential spread and thin hospital capacity, Montgomery County residents were already advised to stay home unless necessary to go out.
