The town of Winthrop is urging any visitors to the Winthrop Marketplace or Winthrop Meat Market in the days leading up to Thanksgiving to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, after multiple employees tested positive for the virus. Four employees who work at the Winthrop Marketplace on Revere Street in Winthrop testes positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. One employee at the Winthrop Meat Market next to Metcalf Square also tested positive for COVID. The town's public health department said the cases at the two businesses, located away from each other, were not related. A New Jersey dad who has completed races around the world raising funds for his son’s muscular dystrophy treatment claims the state’s gambling ban prevents him from auctioning off a Mustang for the charity. Jim Raffone’s 11-year-old son Jamesy was diagnosed in 2013 with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare, but fatal disease that causes progressive muscle weakness, Patch.com reported. That same year, he and his wife Karen founded Jar of Hope to raise money for DMD research, according to Patch. Chartered United Airlines flights from Brussels to Chicago are carrying Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, according to The Wall Street Journal. The flights represent one leg of a chain, which will extend from Chicago to distribution hubs around the US.
