Dallas County officials sounded an alarm Tuesday about rising COVID-19 numbers, hoping for greater public cooperation with disease prevention precautions. Reports from other Texas cities of hospital and morgue space shortages had Dallas County Commissioners worried Tuesday. “Two weeks from now, where are we going to be, listening to what's going on around the state,” Commissioner Theresa Daniel asked. Dr. Philip Huang, the Dallas County Health Director, showed commissioners a chart of daily emergency room visits the past few months. It showed a recent increase growing close to the summer peak that Huang hoped to avoid. The star took to Twitter on Tuesday (Nov. 10) to reveal that she will be the subject of a category on the popular game show, with all clues revealed via video by Carey herself. "Hi, I'm Mariah Carey," she says in the accompanying clip. "How well do you think you know me? Find out when I present clues about my life and career on Jeopardy!." "Saddened by the passing of our beloved Alex Trebek. He is a staple of American TV and will be so missed," she captioned the post. "I recently taped clues for my category on @Jeopardy, and will be watching this bittersweet moment with all of you today. Thank you, Alex. RIP."

Monday marks the third-highest day ever for cases, with 118,953, trailing only Saturday and Friday, according to data compiled by The Washington Post. The largest concentration of new cases is in Midwestern states, as the virus has spread rapidly throughout Great Lakes and Mountain West states, with North Dakota and South Dakota leading the way.
