Kate McKinnon Returning to Saturday Night Live in Season 46 — SNL – TVLine

Another year, another bullet dodged by Saturday Night Live: Emmy-winning cast member Kate McKinnon has inked a new deal to return to NBC’s late-night institution for its upcoming 46th season, TVLine has learned. In fact, sources confirm that, for the first time in recent memory, SNL‘s entire ensemble will remain in tact when the show returns (in studio vs. virtually) on Oct. 3. McKinnon’s initial SNL pact expired in May 2019 but, in a move that surprised many, she extended her contract for an additional year, through Season 45. Her decision to stick around for Season 46 comes weeks after NBC handed a straight-to-series order to a limited series about Netflix breakout Joe Exotic, in which McKinnon is set to star as the Tiger King’s nemesis Carole Baskin. It remains uncle...

Pesco Mediterranean diet: Pescatarian twist with fish is best diet for heart health – TODAY

If you were to design the ideal eating plan for a healthy heart, plenty of evidence suggests it would be the Pesco-Mediterranean diet with daily intermittent fasting built in, a group of doctors declared this week. It’s still the plant-rich, olive oil-lubricated Mediterranean diet most people are familiar with, but with more emphasis on seafood as the main source of animal protein. This style of eating has many benefits, especially when it comes to long-term cardiovascular health and longevity, the authors wrote in a review of studies, published Monday in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. It also solves the “omnivore's dilemma.” When you can eat anything — like humans can — what do you choose that’s good for you, but also tasty and sustainable for the long-term? It’s no...

562 more COVID-19 cases, no deaths reported in Utah Tuesday – KSL.com

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s number of COVID-19 cases has increased by 562 from Monday, with no new deaths reported, according to the Utah Department of Health. The department now estimates there are 9,237 active cases of the disease in Utah. The rolling seven-day average number of positive cases per day is now at 522, according to the health department. The positive test rate per day for that time period is now 10.6%. This is the first time the rolling average has been over 500 cases per day since late July. Gov. Gary Herbert had set a goal to see that statistic below 500 by Aug. 1, and the state met the goal. He set another goal of seeing the rolling average drop below 400 cases a day by Sept. 1, which the state met in mid-August. However, Utah has regressed since then and has experienced an...

Coronavirus death toll linked to wedding in Maine grows to 7 | TheHill – The Hill

The coronavirus death toll linked to an indoor August wedding in Maine has reached at least seven, state officials said Tuesday. The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced that the wedding and its reception in Millinocket are now connected to 176 confirmed cases of COVID-19, agency spokesman Robert Long said in a statement.  Maine public health officials have traced outbreaks in the state back to the wedding, including at York County Jail and a Madison rehabilitation center, after one staff member from each attended the wedding. A total of 80 cases have been confirmed at the building that houses the York County Jail. Thirty-nine people tested positive at the Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison, including 24 residents and 15 staff members. ...

Tenet Didnt Bring Audiences Back to Movie Theaters. Now What? – The New York Times

“Death on the Nile” from Disney’s Twentieth Century division is the biggest-budgeted movie still scheduled to come out in October. If “Black Widow” (Nov. 6) or the James Bond spectacle “No Time to Die” (Nov. 20) get pushed back or moved online — as Disney did recently with “Mulan” — theaters are likely to face arduous conversations about their futures with investors and lenders. In addition, the longer the pandemic drags on, the more that streaming becomes a threat to theaters. At least a dozen movies originally destined for big screens, including “Hamilton,” “Trolls World Tour” and “Greyhound,” have been redirected to streaming services or online rental platforms. The move has kept money flowing to studios, but analysts say that it has undercut theaters by training consumers to expect ne...
