Los Angeles County could reopening more widely sometime in October, the county’s public health director said on Wednesday. But, warned Barbara Ferrer, post-Labor Day numbers could potentially thwart that move. L.A. county is in the most restrictive, or “purple,” level of California’s four-tier virus-tracking roadmap. The county already has a low enough seven-day average testing positivity rate — around 3.2% — to move to a less- restrictive tier, but average new case numbers are still too high, currently averaging 8.1 cases per 100,000 residents. State orders closure of Norwich nursing home – WFSB

NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -- A Norwich nursing home has been ordered to close due to an outbreak of coronavirus cases. State leaders signed an order on Wednesday that will shut down the Three Rivers Nursing Home in Norwich. All 53 residents will be moved to other licensed nursing homes, but it will have to happen slowly so they can contain the outbreak. There are 17 residents who are in a COVID-positive unit, and will be transferred to another unit. Another seven are under observation.
