Dr. Dres Record Co. Accuses Estranged Wife of Decimating Bank Account – TMZ

Exclusive A company Dr. Dre and his estranged wife founded together is accusing her of draining the primary business account dry and even criminal embezzlement ... just the latest sign of how nasty this divorce is getting. TMZ has obtained a letter that was fired off to Nicole Young by attorneys for Record One recording studio, which Dre and Nicole founded in 2015. Record One is operated by an LLC, and Dre, Nicole and a guy named Larry Chatman are the officers. The letter launches right into allegations of wrongdoing by Nicole -- claiming she "decimated" the company's bank account last month to the tune of $363,571.85.  Attorney Ed Mc...

Dr. Fauci Says These 3 Places Must Close to Avoid More COVID Surges – Yahoo Lifestyle

Throughout the COVID pandemic, it's become increasingly clear that certain types of businesses in particular can pose a serious COVID risk: those that are indoors with poor ventilation where people tend to gather close together. And while most states have now reopened the majority of businesses, Anthony Fauci, MD, the nation's leading immunologist, is warning that three specific businesses should stay closed amid COVID. During an appearance on MSNBC's All In on Sept. 17, host Chris Hayes pointed out that Arizona, Texas, and New York benefitted from closing certain establishments. And Fauci said, "I totally agree" with that tactic. "In fact, the CDC just came out—if you go on their website—with a figure that's really telling. It shows the odds of risk of different types of situations that ...

Live updates: CDC acknowledges coronavirus often spreads through aerosols – The Washington Post

September 21, 2020 at 12:16 AM EDT The fall opening of colleges: Upheaval, pandemic weirdness and a fragile stability When the school year began, Gettysburg College looked well-positioned to weather the tumult of the coronavirus pandemic and Arizona State University seemed vulnerable. The private liberal arts college in Pennsylvania planned meticulously for the arrival of more than 2,200 students to its small-town campus in August, pledging to test them all for the novel coronavirus and do its utmost to safeguard public health while teaching as much as possible in person. The public university in Arizona confronted the steep challenge of squelching infection threats on multiple campuses in the Phoenix area as it delivered a mix of face-to-face and online instruction to 74,000 students. W...

Emmys: Succession Creator Says “Un-Thank You” to Trump, Media Moguls While Accepting Outstanding Drama Award – Hollywood Reporter

8:12 PM PDT 9/20/2020 by Katie Kilkenny The COVID-19 virus, Donald Trump and Boris Johnson were all name-checked in Jesse Armstrong's unconventional acceptance speech. Succession creator Jesse Armstrong gave an unusual acceptance speech as the HBO dramedy won the best drama prize at the Emmy Awards on Sunday. The British writer-producer gave a series of "un-thank yous" to a number of individuals during the course of his speech, which was interrupted briefly by the ring of a telephone in the background. "Thank you very much indeed. This is such a very nice moment and it's very sad not to be with the cast and some of the crew to share it with you all tonight, but this is a wonderful achievement for the whole group," Armstrong said as he patched in from a hotel ro...

This Year’s Emmy Winners Want You to Vote – The New York Times

As vigils honoring Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Supreme Court justice who died on Friday, continued throughout the United States on Sunday, television stars gathered virtually for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, one of the first major awards shows to take place during the pandemic. The loss wasn’t explicitly mentioned until over an hour into the show, when Regina King said, “Rest in power, R.B.G.,” while accepting her acting Emmy for “Watchmen” and wearing a shirt bearing Breonna Taylor’s likeness. But calls to vote were plentiful — perhaps not surprisingly, with the battle to fill the vacancy left by Justice Ginsburg already in full swing in Washington. More surprising, perhaps, was how some winners and presenters stressed the more practical aspects of voting. As James Poniewozik, the chief...

CDC says coronavirus spreads mainly via respiratory aerosols – Los Angeles Times

The coronavirus spreads most commonly in the air, through droplets or other tiny respiratory particles that apparently can remain suspended and inhaled, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says in new guidance. The smaller particles, known as aerosols, are produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, sings, talks or breathes and can be inhaled into someone’s nose, mouth, airways or lungs, according to the CDC, which says that, in general, indoor settings without good ventilation increase the risk of contagion. “This is thought to be the main way the virus spreads,” the CDC has posted on its website. “There is growing evidence that droplets and airborne particles can remain suspended in the air and be breathed in by others and travel distances beyond six feet (for example, ...

Emmys 2020: Zendaya is youngest lead actress drama winner – Los Angeles Times

“Euphoria” star Zendaya made Emmy Awards history on Sunday as the youngest actress to win the prize for lead actress in a drama — breaking a record that was set just last year by “Killing Eve” star Jodie Comer during a show that rarely honors its youngest nominees. At 24, Zendaya pulled off a major upset, besting Comer and her “Killing Eve” costar Sandra Oh as well as fellow nominees Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), Olivia Colman (“The Crown”) and Laura Linney (“Ozark”). “I want to say thank you to the TV Academy, to all the other incredible women in this category,” Zendaya said while accepting her Emmy from home. “I admire you all so much. This is pretty crazy. I don’t really cry. Thank you, HBO, and A24 for all your support. Thank you to my family and my team ... I’m really grat...
