How a Bus Ride Turned Into a Coronavirus Superspreader Event – MSN Money

In late January, as the new coronavirus was beginning to spread from China’s Hubei Province, a group of lay Buddhists traveled by bus to a temple ceremony in the city of Ningbo — hundreds of miles from Wuhan, center of the epidemic. It was a sunny day with a gentle breeze, and the morning service was held al fresco, followed by a brief luncheon indoors. A passenger on one of the buses had recently dined with friends from Hubei. She apparently did not know she carried the coronavirus. Within days, 24 fellow passengers on her bus were also found to be infected. It did not matter how far a passenger sat from the infected individual on the bus, according to a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine on Tuesday. Even passengers in the very last row of the bus, seven rows behind the infected ...

Wright, 26, narrated the moving piece of poetry amid a montage of images related to nature as well as shots of them together. 'I didn’t know this is what I was waking up to, my brother, an angel on earth, departed,' Wright, who played King T’Challa's sister Shuri in the hit 2018 film, said. 'A soul so beautiful, when you walked into a room, there was calm. You always moved with grace and ease. Every time I saw you, the world would be a better place.' Elvis Presleys Graceland is defaced by vandals who spray-painted BLM on wall of Kings mansion – Daily Mail

Elvis Presley’s iconic Graceland estate in Memphis was defaced by vandals overnight with ‘Black Lives Matter’ and ‘Defund the Police’ graffiti. The protest slogans were painted in thick black and orange lettering on the stone wall that surrounds the King’s mansion along Elvis Presley Boulevard, the Commercial Appeal first reported. Graceland, where Elvis lived for 20 years before his death in August 1977, also had its wall marred by other popular activist phrases such as ‘Abolish ICE’, ‘Defund MPD’, and ‘F*** Trump’. The spray-painted lettering covered thousands of tributes to Elvis written by fans who have visited the King’s home since it officially became a museum in 1982. The vandalism was discovered by museum workers early Tuesday morning.  Elvis Presley’s iconic ...

Large study shows COVID-19 antibodies last 4 months, bolstering vaccine hopes – New York Post

Coronavirus antibodies could last for at least four months and fade more slowly than previously reported, according to a new study. The findings come from a large-scale survey published Tuesday involving more than 30,500 people in Iceland. Billed as the most comprehensive look at the body’s response to the virus, scientists believe it gives hope to achieve immunity through a vaccine. If a vaccine generates antibodies that are as long-lasting, there is “hope that host immunity to this unpredictable and highly contagious virus may not be fleeting and may be similar to that elicited by most other viral infections,” wrote scientists in an editorial on the study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Researchers are still trying to decipher built immunity to the virus...

REUTERS/Adrees Latif The moves came as The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday issued a sweeping order temporarily halting landlords across the nation from evicting millions of tenants in what it said was an effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus. The order covers all 43 million U.S. residential renters as long as they me...

Spoiler-free Review: Tenet is a pleasing, thrilling and confusing roller coaster ride – KSL.com

THE INVERTED WORLD — It’s likely been a long time since any of us have been to the theater to see a new film, but writer and director Christopher Nolan thinks it’s time for you to see his latest film "Tenet" on the big screen. With an initial release date of July 17, "Tenet" was pushed to the end of July due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then pushed again to August 12 and is now fully opening here in Utah on Friday. While it’s exciting to think you can see Nolan’s latest mind-blowing and time-bending thriller in theaters, I want to take a moment to ask for all of us to practice caution as we head back to the theater. I had the chance to see "Tenet" in the theater so I could write this review for you, but it wasn’t your typical trip to the cinema. I wore a mask, had to sit in an isolate...

Kanye West registered as Republican in Park County, WY, potentially blocking run as independent in Arizona – Fox News

Rapper Kanye West may be blocked from running for president as an independent in Arizona because he’s registered as a Republican in Wyoming, according to a report. A lawsuit claims West is violating Arizona law. According to the lawsuit, filed Monday in the Maricopa County Superior Court: “The Secretary of State's forms for "Independent" nomination papers for president, vice president, and presidential electors asks the submitting party to sign a form that states, among other things: "I meet the statutory requirements to be nominated as a candidate for public office at the general election and I am not a member of a recognized political party in the State of Arizona." Friday is the deadline for West to have at least 40,000 petition signatures to qualify for the November ballot; next...
