Fargo tries to tell a new story with the same old routine – The A.V. Club

Photo: Elizabeth Morris TV ReviewsAll of our TV reviews in one convenient place. Here’s a question for yah: is Fargo (the TV show) actually smart? It’s an odd question to ask at this point, admittedly; starting the fourth season after three seasons’ worth of generally fulsome praise from yours truly, you’d think I’d have a better idea about the answer. But I honestly don’t. Season one, I spent most of my time impressed that such a seemingly terrible idea (a television spin-off of a Coen Brothers movie) actually yielded watchable content. Season two, I was impressed at how series’ creator Noah Hawley expanded his ambitions to tell a funny, sad, and tense story about a pair of warring crime families and the deranged housewife who inadvertently gets caught between them. Season three, we...

Australian firm says its nasal spray reduced coronavirus growth in animal study – Yahoo News

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australian biotech company Ena Respiratory said on Monday that a nasal spray it is developing to improve the human immune system to fight common cold and flu significantly reduced the growth of the coronavirus in a recent study on animals. A study on ferrets showed the product dubbed INNA-051, which could be used complementary to vaccines, lowered the levels of the virus that causes COVID-19 by up to 96%, the company said. The study was led by British government agency Public Health England. Ena Respiratory said it would be ready to test INNA-051 in human trials in less than four months, subject to successful toxicity studies and regulatory approval. The company has raised A$11.7 million ($8.24 million) for the development of the spray. Investors include venture capital...

Experimental Cancer Treatment Destroys Cancer Cells Without Using Any Drugs – ScienceAlert

One of the latest methods pioneered by scientists to treat cancer uses a Trojan horse sneak attack to prompt cancer cells to self-destruct – all without using any drugs. Key to the technique is the use of a nanoparticle coated in a specific amino acid called L-phenylalanine, one of several such acids that cancer cells rely on to grow. L-phenylalanine isn't made by the body, but absorbed from meat and dairy products.   In tests on mice, the nanoparticle – called Nano-pPAAM or Nanoscopic phenylalanine Porous Amino Acid Mimic – killed cancer cells specifically and effectively, posing as a friendly amino acid before causing the cells to destroy themselves. The self-destruction mode is triggered as the nanoparticle puts production of certain chemicals known as reactive oxygen species (ROS...

Drew McIntyre retains WWE Championship, Big Show, Ric Flair, HBK and Christian appear – Wrestling News

In the semi-main event of the Clash of Champions pay-per-view, Drew McIntyre put his WWE Championship on the line against Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match. Notes written in real-time during the match: The only way to win this match is for one man to put his opponent in the ambulance and both door must be closed. The ambulance was parked next to the stage area. McIntyre got in the first bit of offense to start the match but a minute later Orton hit a draping DDT off the second rope. Orton was about to hit the punt kick but Big Show appeared and he held Orton’s leg and then he pulled him out of the ring so he could chokeslam him through the announcer’s table. McIntyre carried Orton to the area where the ambulance was but first, he used a chair as a weapon but Orton fought back with a crut...

2020 WWE Clash of Champions results, recap, grades: Roman Reigns ruthlessly tears his family apart – CBSSports.com

WWE Clash of Champions is the company's pay-per-view where every title on Raw and SmackDown must be defended, but in the 2020 edition of the event, only one (real) title ultimately switched hands. In the end, the event saw some very high highs, but the lasting memory will be the main event, a moment where Roman Reigns truly established himself as the top heel in the company after brutalizing his own cousin. In the main event, Reigns defended the universal championship against Jey Uso. The match was packed with drama and intensity that matched an incredible build across three weeks of intensity before Uso's twin brother, Jimmy, threw in the towel after Reigns was brutalizing his brother. Jey gave a spirited effort, but Reigns was simply too strong and too good for his...
