Metallica Rock Australia’s Albums Chart With ‘S&M2’ – Billboard

Metallica come out swinging on Australia’s albums chart as S&M2 (Virgin/Universal) bows at No. 1, while Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” (Atlantic/Warner) enters a third straight week atop the national singles survey. More than 20 years after Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony led the ARIA Albums Chart with S&M, the unlikely partnership yields another leader. The live compilation, recorded last September at San Francisco’s Chase Center, gives Metallica their seventh No. 1 album Down Under following Metallica (August 1991), Load (June 1996), S&M (November 1999), St. Anger (June 2003), Death Magnetic (September 2008), Hardwired...To Self-Destruct (2016). ‘Enola Holmes’ Review: Sherlock’s Kid Sister Rocks in Clever Netflix Original – Yahoo Entertainment

The puzzles in “Enola Holmes” are not especially difficult, but they’re enough to stump the great Sherlock Holmes (played here by “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill). To solve this particular mystery — which involves the disappearance of the detective’s mother, Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter) — will require an even sharper intellect than Sherlock’s, which we find in the form of his spunky younger sister, Enola (Millie Bobby Brown of “Stranger Things”), an untamed country wildflower who has spent her first 16 years on Earth preparing for just such a case, though she didn’t realize it at the time. Enola may not be couth or the slightest bit ladylike, but her lack of refinement makes her uniquely suited to the kind of sleuthing this franchise-ready Netflix feature requires. It takes someone imp...

New York Will Test the Dead More Often for Coronavirus and Flu – MSN Money

Cough, fever, chills — with fall fast on the way, symptoms alone won’t be useful in distinguishing Covid-19 from similar-looking cases of the flu. That means routinely testing for both viruses will be crucial — even, perhaps, after some patients have already died. That will at least be true in New York, where officials recently announced a ramp-up in post-mortem testing for the coronavirus as well as the flu. Deaths linked to respiratory illnesses that weren’t confirmed before a person died are to be followed up with tests for both viruses within 48 hours, according to the new regulation. “These regulations will ensure we have the most accurate death data possible as we continue to manage Covid-19 while preparing for flu season,” Dr. Howard Zucker, the state’s health commissioner, said i...

Corona Cards – A fraud on customers.. – Greatandhra.com

After wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and drinking the staple 'kadha', a new anti-coronavirus item has arrived in the market and people are flocking to buy it. This is the Covid-19 'shut-out' card that looks like a small ID, which is to be worn around the neck. The card claims that it wards off the virus and if a person wears the card around his neck, he/she can stay safe in the pandemic. The card is priced between Rs 200 and 400, depending on the 'quality'. "The cards are being sold in large numbers because people feel it is the easiest way to ward off the virus. The cards that we are selling have a three-month expiry date," said Ravi Krishna, a salesman at a medical shop in Lucko...

Calling The Shots

Verve People Text by Akshaya Pillai. Illustration by Aishwaryashree I wheel my chair away from my writing table and sit there for a second, detached, debating whether to shut the window. I have been listening to the 10-year-old who lives in the adjoining house mugging up a poem for the past 15 minutes. It is the urge to go on an endless rant about rote learning that takes me back to a conversation with Geetu Mohandas that took place over refills of Pepsi, a few months before the pandemic. ********** In the 7th-floor apartment that opens its windows out to Kochi’s expanding cityscape, we sit on adjacent sofas and fidget with our devices, attempting to wrap our brains around the digital advancements meant to make life easier. “What milkshake...
