Longtime Netflix exec Cindy Holland exits, replaced by Bela Bajaria – MarketWatch

One of Netflix Inc.'s NFLX, -1.75% highest-ranking and longest-serving executives is leaving. Netflix said late Tuesday that vice president of original content Cindy Holland will step down, and be replaced by Bela Bajaria, who is being promoted to vice president of global TV. Holland has been with Netflix for 18 years and was a key player in the company's shift from DVDs by mail to creating original streaming content. Ted Sarandos, Netflix's longtime chief content officer who recently was named co-CEO, said in a statement he "wanted to simplify the way our content teams operate." Bajaria has served as head of Netflix's non-English-language programming, and formerly was president of Universal TV.

513,415 children in the U.S. have tested positive for coronavirus since pandemic started, report says – CBS News

New data out Tuesday shows that more than 500,000 children have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic started, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). They said children represented 9.8% of all COVID-19 cases in the U.S., where more than 6.3 million total cases have been reported, per a tally by Johns Hopkins University. The AAP reported there were 70,630 new child cases, a 16% increase over two weeks, between August 20 and September 3, which brings the national total to 513,415. Puerto Rico was among six states and territories that showed an increase in child cases. The AAP and the Children's Hospital Association compiled the data of children of varying ages as reported by 49 state health departments, New York City, Puerto Rico and Guam. Texas was e...

I got it and I'm on doxycycline," she wrote. "Any advice? Can you have a glass of wine or 2 on it? I know to stay out of the sun." TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Data released by the state health department Tuesday indicate that 65 pediatric patients in Florida have been diagnosed with a rare but serious condition that develops in some children who have tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19. Also, Florida was just one of nine states that as of Thursday had more than 30 cases of the condition, officially called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children or MIS-C, according to a federal report. Nationwide, 792 cases of MIS-C had been reported in 42 states, New York City and Washington D.C.  Meanwhile, 14 of the 65 Florida cases included in the state pediatric report did not have diagnosis dates for MIS-C, which results in inflammation of organs such as hearts, lungs, kidneys, eyes and gastrointestinal organs. ...

Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center: Twenty-five new cases of COVID-19 have been reported since Friday, bringing to 434 the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus. The daily, weekly and monthly datasets have been updated. Some highlights include the following: Of the 1,723 residents tested for previous COVID infection, also known as antibody testing, 31 or 1.8 percent tested positive. The county’s case doubling time has improved to 46 days. The confirmed case rate stands at 320 per 100,000 county residents. The state rate is more than five times that at 1,841 cases per 100,000.
