At the demonstration in front of the Massachusetts State House in Boston, protesters -- some of them children -- held signs that read "Unavoidably unsafe," "My child, my choice," "Parents call the shots" and "I am not a threat." CDC report on coronavirus deaths underlines why virus is so dangerous – Axios

A new Centers for Disease Control report shows 94% of people who died after contracting COVID-19 had contributing health conditions. Our thought bubble, via Axios' Sam Baker: This report doesn't mean that COVID isn't as bad as we thought. It's clear from the CDC's statistics on excess deaths that more people are dying than usual, because of COVID. The fact that common pre-existing medical conditions often coincide with deadly coronavirus infections is part of what makes it scary — not a reason to write it off. Of note: Twitter removed a post earlier Sunday retweeted by President Trump for violating its rules with a false interpretation of the CDC data. 2020 WWE Payback results, recap, grades: Roman Reigns shocking title win highlights best PPV of the year – CBSSports.com

The idea of running pay-per-view events on back-to-back weekends was a questionable one for WWE, but after a thrilling edition of 2020 WWE Payback on Sunday night, it was clearly the right decision. After the previous week's SummerSlam delivered heaps of exciting action, Payback proved an even better event without a single true misstep in terms of in-ring action. The night's main event saw a major title title change as Roman Reigns won the universal championship in his first match since March 1, beating "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a no-holds-barred triple threat bout. Reigns was not in the match until after Wyatt and Strowman battered each other and broke the ring with a massive suplex. At that point, Reigns and new "advocate" Paul Heyman entered the...

Planet Fitness, Crunch Fitness, O2 Fitness: Some North Carolina chain gyms say they will open Tuesday, citing medical loophole – WTVD-TV

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- After a long six months, many chain-North Carolina gyms say they plan to reopen amid the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as Tuesday, citing a medical loophole that other gyms in the state have used since the start of the pandemic to remain open despite Governor Roy Cooper's executive order keeping them closed. Customers at select Planet Fitness and Crunch Fitness gyms received similar newsletters saying that they plan to reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The companies referenced a letter from North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein sent out in early June that says gyms can be used for medical purposes. The two chain gyms made it clear that they only plan to serve members with "a medical need to exercise." However, the gyms will not require medical documentation at check-in to r...
