Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center: Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported today, bringing to 364 the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus. The Oregon Health Authority reported 212 new confirmed and presumptive coronavirus cases and five deaths Thursday, bringing the state’s death toll to 438. The state also reported an outbreak of 21 new coronavirus cases linked to Independent Transport, an employment agency in Morrow County. State officials began investigating July 28, but the initial case count was too low to be disclosed to the public, officials said. Spielberg died of natural causes while surrounded by his family in Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to a statement from his four children. Spielberg and Charles Propster designed the GE-225 mainframe computer in the late 1950s while working for General Electric. STURGIS, S.D. (KELO) — Results from the mass testing for COVID-19 conducted in Sturgis are in. The testing happened following the 2020 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Monument Health conducted testing on August 21, 24 and 25. California saw a five-fold increase in coronavirus death rates among Latinos of working age over the past three months when the state reported a surge in coronavirus cases after partially reopening its economy earlier this summer, according to a new study released Thursday by the Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture, which is part of UCLA Health. From May 11 to Aug. 11, researchers looked at the progression of coronavirus-related deaths across Latino communities in three different working age populations: Young adults (ages 18‒34); early middle age (35‒49); and late middle age (50‒69).
