260 Kids, Staffers Tested Positive For COVID-19 In Outbreak At Georgia Summer Camp – HuffPost

In a startling finding with disturbing implications for schools, 260 children and staff members tested positive for COVID-19 in an outbreak that spread in just days at a summer camp in northern Georgia, according to a study released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It’s one of the largest known COVID-19 super-spreading events in the state. All counselors and campers “passed all mandatory screenings” and were required to have a negative COVID-19 test before attending the camp in late June, the study noted. Of the 597 residents at the YMCA Camp High Harbor in Rabun County — identified in the report as “Camp A” — 344 were tested for the virus, and 260 tested positive. That’s a 77% infection rate just for those tested. The group with the highest number of po...

Tamar Braxton Reportedly Lashes Out at WE tv Over Release Announcement: Abuse and Lies – PopCulture.com

Tamar Braxton reportedly responded to WE tv's decision to release her and is not happy about how the network did it. Although Braxton called for the network to release her from her contract, the Braxton Family Values star said "no one" from the network spoke to her or a lawyer before announcing its decision. Braxton said this was another example of the "abuse and lies" she has been talking about. "LIES!! No one has talked to a lawyer, or to me, sent a flower or card, text to me or NAN!!!" Braxton wrote in a now-deleted tweet, according to The Shade Room. "THIS is the abuse and Lies I am talking about. This is not helping my mental state. They just won't stop until they see me out of my mind or dead." The tweet came just after WE tv sent a statement to Variety, saying they plan to "wor...

Rhode Island Residents Receive State Checks Signed By ‘Mickey Mouse’ And ‘Walt Disney’ – Deadline

The Rhode Island Dept. of the Treasury is evidently a Mickey Mouse operation. A resident of the state received a sales tax refund this week, but noticed that the names of General Treasurer Seth Magaziner and State Controller Peter Keenan had been substituted. Mickey Mouse signed as General Treasurer, while Walt Disney put his John Hancock in as the State Controller. The state claims a technical glitch is to blame. “As a result of a technical error in the Division of Taxation’s automated refund check printing system, approximately 176 checks with invalid signature lines were printed and mailed to taxpayers on Monday 7/27/2020. The invalid signature lines were incorrectly sourced from the Division’s test print files,” said Jade Borgeson, Chief of Staff for the Department of Rev...

WWE SmackDown results, recap, grades: The Fiend unleashes surprising attack, champions retain titles – CBSSports.com

While this week's edition of SmackDown featured a pair of title matches, it was a singular moment to close the show that will dominate the conversation. After Alexa Bliss was left alone in the ring by a frustrated Nikki Cross, Bliss became the target of The Fiend as he fired a brutal shot at universal champion Braun Strowman by attacking his former Mixed Match Challenge tag partner. Bray Wyatt kicked off the show with an episode of the "Firefly Fun House," sending a warning to Strowman that The Fiend was now awake and no one was safe until he gets what he wants. Bliss, who had been at ringside for Cross' loss to Bayley in their match for the SmackDown women's championship, would find out the truth of that statement the hard way. After Cross shoved Bliss to the ground...

WILL COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- The Will County Health Department is renewing warnings about hosting parties or large gatherings because they are very dangerous and lead to the spread of COVID-19, after multiple attendees of a private prom tested positive for the virus. The health department said contact tracers determined that multiple people who attended a private high school prom held in Northwest Indiana have now tested positive for COVID-19. Officials said they determined nearly 300 people, including high school students and chaperones, attended the event. "This is no time to be overconfident. No time to be cocky. We are going to get sick again," said Steve Brandy of the Will County Health Department. They believe the gathering involved students from more than one high school in the area...

Los Angeles County Coronavirus Update: L.A. Officials Explain Why Deaths Are Spiking, Saying It’s A Reality That “Cannot Be Ignored” – Yahoo Entertainment

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced 69 more coronavirus-related fatalities on Friday. That’s much higher than the average number of daily COVID-related deaths reported last week, which was about 38. The new deaths increased the countywide death toll related to the pandemic to 4,624. County health officials have been warning about an anticipated increase in deaths, following a sharp increase in hospitalizations that began in mid July, roughly two weeks after the Fourth of July weekend. Officials are blaming the rise in fatalities on numerous public gatherings that weekend, despite health restrictions banning them. More from Deadline “As we are seeing increases these past few days in the numbers of people dying from COVID-19, the reality of the devastation cannot b...
