Taylor Swift Sets Records, Completes Chart Double In Australia – Billboard

Taylor Swift is the absolute champion of Australia’s charts this week as Folklore (Republic/Universal) bows at No. 1 on the national albums survey and its lead track “Cardigan” rules the singles tally. “Cardigan” opens at the summit of the ARIA Singles Chart, giving Swift her sixth leader and her first since “Look What You Made Me Do” hit the top in September 2017. Swift trails only Rihanna (7), Delta Goodrem (9), P!nk (9), Kylie Minogue (10) and Madonna (10) in the list of female solo artists with the most chart toppers, according to ARIA, and she’s the only artist among them to land five No. 1s the last decade. Folklore opens the floodgates on the singles chart, as all 16 tracks from it debut inside the Top 50, a new record. Swift shatters the mark for most debuts in on...

One of the world’s ‘most livable’ cities just went into full lockdown mode as coronavirus cases spike – MarketWatch

Melbourne, which had been named the “world’s most livable city” for seven straight years before being beaten out by Vienna in 2018, won’t be feeling quite so livable for the next six weeks. Australia’s second-biggest city faces strict lockdown measures as the state of Victoria saw another record spike in coronavirus cases — 671 in a single day, CNN reported. How strict? Starting Sunday evening, a curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. will be enforced, with the premier of Victoria ordering the region into a “state of disaster.” Hear more from Premier Daniel Andrews: He pleaded that “we have to do more, and we have to do more right now,” telling people that “Where you slept last night is where you’ll need to stay for the next six wee...

Taylor Swifts Folklore Reigns In UK – Billboard

Taylor Swift has a fifth consecutive U.K. chart-leader as Folklore (EMI) blasts to No. 1. Swift’s eighth album leads the Official U.K. Albums Chart on debut, notching up 37,000 chart sales, with two-thirds of those from streams and the remainder from downloads, the OCC reports. With that fast start, Folklore is 2020’s most-downloaded album in its first week, eclipsing the opening tally of Eminem’s Music to be Murdered By. The full rollout of Folklore on CD and vinyl is yet to come. According to the OCC, Swift becomes just the fifth female artist to bag five or more U.K. No. 1 albums, joining Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion. Logan Huntzberger left Connecticut to work in California When Logan walked away from Rory for the last time in season 7 of Gilmore Girls, he was getting ready to embark on a brand new career.
