COOK COUNTY, IL —New health guidance has been issued for bars, fitness clubs, personal care businesses and other gathering places, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Department of Public health announced Monday. The guidance is in response to a new surge of coronavirus cases in suburban Cook County, particularly among young adults. The new guidance measures include: Bars, taverns, breweries and other establishments that serve alcohol for on-site consumption without a retail food license are being asked to serve customers outdoors only. Restaurants that serve alcohol need to continue to abide by ongoing health guidance and existing regulations. Phase 1 and 2 clinical trial data tested the safety of two vaccines and their ability to have our bodies make an immune response. Phase 3 studies will focus more on how effectively the vaccines generate durable immunity against the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.Tri-State residents between the ages of 18 and 85 can volunteer for Phase 3 clinical trials at Children’s.Children’s needs up to 1,000 participants. While testing continues to increase, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state continues to climb at an even faster rate. The seven-day average rolling infection rate for Minnesota is at 5.1%, up from 4.8% last Monday. There's also been a 19% increase in ICU patients in the past week, Malcolm said. Albany, N.Y. -- An Upstate New York lawmaker says he had the coronavirus as early as December, potentially making him one of the first Americans to get Covid-19. Albany County Executive Dan McCoy told reporters Monday that he got an antibody test in May which showed he previously contracted the virus. “When I got tested (for coronavirus I had) been negative every time, but I did do the antibodies (test) and I had it,” McCoy said during a press briefing. “I had the Covid back in December-January, they put the timetable down before it even broke here, before we even knew about it.” According to the Times-Union, McCoy was referring to a doctor who spoke about the results of his antibody test.
