Bryan Cranston Reveals Bout With COVID-19: “Keep Wearing The Damn Mask!” – Deadline

Actor Bryan Cranston revealed today a recent bout with COVID-19, posting an Instagram video of himself donating his antibody-positive plasma for research and encouraging people to wear a mask. The Breaking Bad and Broadway Network star says in the video (watch it below) that he had COVID-19 “a little while ago” and that he had very mild symptoms (“slight headache, tightness of chest and lost all taste and smell”). In a message accompanying the video, Cranston writes: Hi. About now you’re probably feeling a little tied down, restricting your mobility and like me, you’re tired of this!! Well, I just want to encourage you to have a little more patience. I was pretty strict in adhering to the protocols and still… I contracted the virus. Yep. it sounds daunting now that over 150,0...

Billie Eilish Drops ‘My Future’ in Time for Finneas’ Birthday – Rolling Stone

Billie Eilish returned with her new single “My Future” on Thursday — which is also her brother/collaborator Finneas’ 23rd birthday. The song follows “No Time to Die,” the title track for a not-yet-unreleased James Bond film. Its corresponding animated video was created by Australian artist Andrew Onorato.  “My Future,” which starts off characteristically wistful, is actually Eilish’s most uplifting song to date. As the visuals suggest, the song starts off on the dark and somber side, but by a minute and 45 seconds, the sun shines and a percussive beat kicks in, speeding things up to a danceable degree. “I’m in love with my future, can’t wait to meet her. I’m in love, but not with anybody else. Just want to get to know myself,” Eilish oozes through jazzy vocals before the rain clea...

Kim Kardashian Doesnt Owe Anyone an Explanation About Kanye West – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Kanye West has made headlines in the last few weeks after announcing his bid for president and a series of erratic tweets. Many believe these instances are related to a bipolar episode. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, has been criticized for the way she handles her husbands episodes. Her silence is often taken as acceptance of his behavior, which is an unfair opinion. The entire family is under a lot of stress, trying to figure out how best to support West and give him the help he needs.  Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West | Gotham/Getty ImagesDoes Kim support Kanye’s presidential run? West announced on the Fourth of July that he was running for president. The news was met with mixed reactions, Marie Claire reports. He had support from some fellow celebrities, like El...

More Than 80 Percent of the U.S. Can See ‘Tenet’ in Theaters on September 3 – IndieWire

Christopher Nolan's blockbuster doesn't need New York or Los Angeles to open. There’s no shortage of social-media naysayers, but Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” has many reasons to keep its September 3 domestic opening. Granted: If Warner Bros. had to wait for New York and Los Angeles to open, that date would be highly unlikely. Those regions are traditionally so key that many films initially open in those two cities alone, but with “Tenet” we can reasonably expect the inverse: It will open almost everywhere except in those major metropolitan areas. As Warner Bros. announced, “Tenet” will show in “select” cities. Not all. They know it won’t initially play everywhere, including the top two markets in the country. Given COVID-19, all is subject to change — but nowadays that asterisk mus...

Glee Star Naya Rivera Laid To Rest At Famous Hollywood Cemetery Near Nipsey Hussle, Paul Walker – The Blast

Naya's body was found in Lake Piru after her son was found floating in a rental boat they had rented earlier in the day. As we reported, the area where she was found was 30-60 feet and the water was filled with trees and thick brush. One of the operating theories is the actress got caught in the underwater foliage. Investigators in the case say Naya had pushed her son onto the boat after taking a swim together, but she never climbed aboard after getting him to safety. The father of Naya's son Josey, Ryan Dorsey, broke his silence on her death saying, "This is so unfair...there's not enough words to express the hole left in everyone's hearts. I can't believe this is life now. I don't know if I'll ever believe it." Adding, "You were just here... We were just in the back swimming with ...

Children can carry 100 times as much coronavirus as adults, study claims – New York Post

Infected children younger than age 5 may carry up to 100 times as much of the coronavirus in their noses and throats as adults — while older children carry at least as much as grown-ups, according to new research. That’s despite showing mild symptoms, the study, published Thursday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics, found. Scientists looked at swab samples from 95 children, most of whom reported a low-grade fever or cough, in the Chicago area. The study does not prove that infected children are contagious, however, the authors believe it should be considered in the debate over reopening schools. “The school situation is so complicated — there are many nuances beyond just the scientific one,” Dr. Taylor Heald-Sargent, an infectious diseases expert at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie C...

We Feel Like Were Losing Control, Humboldt County Public Health Nurse Tells Bloomberg News – Lost Coast Outpost

In an article published by Bloomberg today, famed journalist Michael Lewis —  author of Moneyball, The Big Short and The Fifth Risk, amongst other notable works — writes about his recent surprising visit to, of all places, Humboldt County’s Public Health department. The piece is certainly worth a read. You can check it out here. Much of the article centers around Lewis’s conversations with public health nurse Erica Dykehouse who goes into great detail about the long work days she’s put in to try and prevent the spread of COVID-19 locally. The overall picture she paints is not all that comforting. Even as confirmed cases rise, she says that the infected and potentially infected people she contacts are decreasingly willing to help her or heed her advice. “A lot of these people are get...
