Young adults unconcerned by coronavirus “may be killing other people,” doctor warns – CBS News

Young people are out enjoying the warmer weather across the country, but according to health officials, they also might be spreading and contracting the coronavirus. As people pack into parks, beaches, restaurants, bars and even concerts, cases are rising in at least 37 states, with surges among young people linked to everything from fitness classes to summer fraternity parties.  "I'm not too scared of getting sick," said Chris Clarici in San Francisco.  "I just personally don't care," said a young person in Boston. "I haven't got sick yet." Experts have warned that attitude is dangerous.  "They may be indirectly hurting people by infecting someone who then infects someone, who then infects someone who's vulnerable," Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, said last...

Netflix’s new Unsolved Mysteries loses the host, but keeps the intrigue – The A.V. Club

Photo: Netflix TV ReviewsAll of our TV reviews in one convenient place. When rebooting a long-running TV show, there are certain rituals that have to be observed. Attempting to precisely re-create the original formula is tricky, and usually comes off as weak besides. But change too much, and suddenly you’re being accused of opportunistically slapping a beloved name onto a wholly unrelated property. For its part, Netflix has shown good faith by enlisting original creators Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove alongside Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy for its re-do of the true crime/paranormal documentary series Unsolved Mysteries. Hollywood and the Police: A Deep, Complicated and Now Strained Relationship – Hollywood Reporter

The entertainment industry has always had close ties with law enforcement, but with talent calling for a clean break, those bonds are more fraught than ever: "It's just standing up for what we all know is not correct." In the weeks leading up to June 23, Kendrick Sampson was sleeping at most five hours a night and marching in a Black Lives Matter protest every other day. At one rally in Los Angeles, he was hit by the police's rubber bullets multiple times. Undeterred, the actor best known for playing Issa Rae's love interest on HBO's Insecure crafted a letter addressed to Hollywood's power brokers: "We demand that Hollywood divest from police." With the help of Thor: Ragnarok's Tessa Thompson, he corralled a group of such A-listers as Michael B. Jordan, Viola Davis and Idris Elba...
