Madonnas Instagram flagged for spreading false COVID-19 information – New York Post

Madonna is doing what she does best again: getting censored. Yesterday, Instagram obscured a video from the superstar’s account for touting a conspiracy theory that claims a cure for the coronavirus has “been found and proven and has been available for months.” “They would rather let fear control the people and let the rich get richer and the poor get poorer,” the caption read for the 61-year-old pop icon’s 15 million followers. The censored clip features Dr. Stella Immanuel, a primary-care physician based in Houston, Texas, and major figure in the so-called “America’s Frontline Doctors” video, which has already been removed from major social-media platforms, including Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. In the now-viral video, Dr. Immanuel claimed to have treated 350 coronavir...

Corey Taylor Drops Two New Songs, Announces CMFT Album – Loudwire

Slipknot and Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor has been hyping the release of his first-ever solo album CMFT over the last few months and now the big day is finally here — Taylor has just dropped two singles, "CMFT Must Be Stopped," paired with a wrestling-themed music video, and "Black Eyes Blue." "CMFT Must Be Stopped" features a variety of guests, from rappers Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie providing lines for the song to Lars Ulrich, Marilyn Manson, Rob Halford, Chris Jericho and more making cameos in the video. Watch it below. For Taylor, this album really has been a lifetime in the making as some of the ideas date back to his days in high school when he was 15 or 16 years old. He had also previously told the Knotfest.com podcast "Mosh Talks With Beez" that he and his solo band spent just ov...

The Umbrella Academy season 2 episode 1 clip opens with nuclear apocalypse – Polygon

We know from previous trailers that the second season of The Umbrella Academy sends the Hargreeves siblings to the 1960s, where they must team up to save the Apocalypse from happening (again). But a new look at this season’s opening scene shows that the Apocalypse is coming sooner rather than later. In this clip from episode 1, Five drops down out of a swirling vortex on November 25 1963, only to find downtown Dallas in flames, Soviet tanks storming the city, and, of course, his siblings in the middle of it all. And as with all iconic action sequences in the show, an unexpected choice of music begins to play: Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” Based on the the comic by Gerard Way (yes, that Gerard Way), The Umbrella Academy follows six superpowered siblings raised by an eccentric and contr...

What Do We Know About Children and Coronavirus Transmission? – Kaiser Family Foundation

Key Points: With just a few weeks remaining before schools in the U.S. are scheduled to reopen, and the federal government encouraging in-person schooling, there remain many questions about the risk COVID-19 poses to children and their role in transmission of the disease. Indeed, other countries have not reopened schools with the levels of community transmission found in the U.S., coupled with its insufficient testing and limited contact tracing. Our review of the latest available data indicates that, while children who are infected with COVID-19 are more likely to be asymptomatic and less likely to experience severe disease (though a small subset become quite sick), they are capable of transmitting to both children and adults. What remains unclear and where evidence is still need...

Federal coronavirus “red zone” of severe outbreaks expands to 21 total states – CBS News

Florida on Tuesday hit a new statewide record high for number of coronavirus deaths reported in a single day since the pandemic began — 186 residents. And while there are signs hospitalizations may be leveling off, the virus continues to upend life there and across the country.  Nearly half of all states are now part of the government's so-called "red zone" due to rising cases, including Missouri, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Dr. Deborah Birx on Tuesday said hot spots threaten regions where cases are controlled. "We can see the virus moving North," she warned. "What we're seeing across the South right now is both rural infections, as well as small metros and major metros, simultaneously." Birx said. This week, Dr. Birx was in five states where cases are on the rise and recommended that so...

Alzheimers blood test in your doctors office closer to reality, studies say – CNN

In a study presented Tuesday at the conference and published in JAMA, a blood test to detect the tau protein, one of the hallmark signs of Alzheimer's, was as accurate as a spinal tap or a positron emission tomography (PET) scan, which are the current gold standards of diagnosis while a person is living. More research is required and such a test is likely still years away from being available, but researchers said the results are promising. "This research represents an exciting step towards developing a blood test that could help identify Alzheimer's disease by focusing on specific sub-types of tau, one of the key proteins that becomes abnormal as part of the Alzheimer's disease changes in the brain," said Clive Ballard, professor of age-related disease at the University of Exeter Med...
