EXCLUSIVE: Those in town assuming that one of the other big exhibition circuits will fall in line with AMC and seek their own 17-day theatrical window-PVOD deal with Universal will soon realize that it will be a cold day in hell. Cineworld CEO Mooky Greidinger, who oversees the world’s second largest chain, exclusively tells Deadline that “We do not see any business sense in this model” when it comes to Universal and AMC’s agreement for a 17-day theatrical window for movies, with an option to go on PVOD thereafter. “While we don’t know the full details and we are always analyzing any move in the industry, we will analyze it. Kim Kardashian Returns Home to Los Angeles After Emotional Reunion With Kanye West – E! NEWS

Kim Kardashian is back at home after reuniting with her husband Kanye West. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star landed in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 28, after a short trip to Cody, Wyoming. A source tells E! News that Kim arrived home, without the Grammy winner, who has been staying at the family's ranch in Wyoming. The 39-year-old star flew to see her husband late Sunday, July 26. During the visit, the couple was spotted out for a drive together, which, according to one insider, got "very emotional." This reunion between Kim and the 43-year-old rapper came shortly after Kanye publicly apologized to his wife for his recent Twitter posts, including one in which he said he wanted a divorce. "I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a pri...

This years Emmy nominees are pretty diverse, but not everyone is happy – CNN

In the acting categories, 33% of the nominees are Black, compared with 14% the five years prior, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. Their analysis found that performers of color made up 37% of the total of nominations overall, which is 6% more than in any of the past five years. Reginald Hudlin, well known for having directed classic African-American films "Boomerang" and "House Party," will produce the Emmys -- the show's first Black producer. But there has been some backlash over the nominations falling short on representation. Some on social media complained that while Billy Porter, who is Black, was nominated for lead actor in a drama series for "Pose," none of the central trans actors on the show received a nod. The Ryan Murphy series has been hailed for shining a...

Why do some coronavirus patients lose sense of smell? Harvard researchers have an answer – Fox News

Temporary loss of smell, or anosmia, is a common symptom of COVID-19, and one study recently determined the cell types in the upper nasal cavity most vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2 infection. The research team led by neuroscientists at Harvard Medical School (HMS) found that non-neuronal cell types may be responsible for loss of smell in coronavirus patients. Their findings were recently published in Science Advances. “Our findings indicate that the novel coronavirus changes the sense of smell in patients not by directly infecting neurons but by affecting the function of supporting cells,” said Sandeep Robert Datta, senior study author and associate professor of neurobiology in the Blavatnik Institute at HMS, in a university news release.
