NYC doctor develops rapid, noninvasive COVID-19 test – New York Post

A New York fertility doctor has developed a rapid, noninvasive coronavirus test that can deliver accurate results in 30 minutes or less, according to a preliminary study. The test, developed by Dr. Zev Williams, a reproductive endocrinologist who runs the Columbia University Fertility Center, uses a person’s saliva to screen for COVID-19. A small sample of saliva is placed into a tube containing enzymes and a compound that causes a chemical reaction before the tube is then warmed up with a heat block. The liquid in the tube turns yellow when it’s positive for the virus or red when it’s negative. “We wanted to design a single step test where all the work was being done by enzymes and chemicals rather than cartridges and components,” Williams said, adding that enzymes and chem...

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle privacy lawsuit a ‘fishing expedition’ to ‘discourage’ paparazzi, tabloids: expert – Fox News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could have an intense fight on their hands, which may not work in their favor, if their recent invasion of privacy complaint against snooping paparazzi ever saw a trial. Last week, in a complaint submitted to a Los Angeles court on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and obtained by Fox News, high-power celebrity attorney Michael J. Kump stated that the filing stems from alleged "serial intrusions on the privacy of a 14-month-old child in his own home," in addition to "the desire and responsibility of any parent to do what is necessary to protect their children from this manufactured feeding frenzy." Markle, 38, and Harry, 35, said the tabloid harassment finally came to a head when they saw that a photograph of their son Archie was being offered to...

Ashley Judd can sue Harvey Weinstein for sexual harassment once again after section of suit tossed – Fox News

A federal appeals court has ruled that Ashley Judd can in fact sue Harvey Weinstein for sexual harassment. A lower court judge had previously tossed the sexual harassment portion of the suit, but allowed Judd, 52, to sue the movie mogul for defamation. The appeals court found that Weinstein, now 68, held power over the actress that made her eligible to carry out the suit under California law. HARVEY WEINSTEIN: JUDGE REJECTS $19 MILLION PRELIMINARY SETTLEMENT CALLING IT 'PHONY' The "De-Lovely" star originally filed the lawsuit in 2018, alleging that the producer smeared her in Hollywood, calling her a "nightmare" to work with after she rejected to watch him shower and give him a massage in a late 1990s encounter. Ashley Judd's sexual harassment suit against Harvey Weinstein ...

Human foot found on rural Templeton road belongs to crash victim, officials say – KSBY San Luis Obispo News

A human foot found along a rural Templeton road belongs to a driver whose legs were severed in a crash along Highway 101 earlier this month, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office. Investigators were called to the area near Santa Rita Road Sunday at around 9:15 a.m. after a bicyclist reported finding the foot. While the sheriff's office initially called the remains "suspicious in nature," saying it was too early in the investigation to determine if the discovery was the result of an accident or foul play," the California Highway Patrol on Monday told KSBY News it was likely linked to an earlier crash. The sheriff's office confirmed that information Wednesday, saying with the help of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office and its rapid DNA process, it was determined th...

By the numbers: More than 150,000 people in the U.S. have died of the novel coronavirus and over 4.4 million have been infected as of Wednesday night, per Johns Hopkins. What they're saying: ABC's Jennifer Ashton asked Fauci if he could envision the point where eye protection would be recommended, he replied: "It might, if you really want perfect protection of the mucosal surfaces." Fau...
