Syracuse, N.Y. — Two people who were at Tommy’s Park in Syracuse late Friday night without masks have now tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the Onondaga County Health Department.
The customers were at the bar at 901 Butternut St. on Friday, July 10, from 11 p.m. to close, which was around midnight, the department said.
Anyone who was at the bar during that time period may have been exposed, according to the health department. Those people should monitor for symptoms for 14 days.
The server was wearing a mask and the establishment has been limiting capacity to under 50% and following federal cleaning guidelines, according to the county.
The county recorded 29 new coronavirus cases today. Just five of those new cases were “community spread,” meaning it’s unclear how the person contracted the virus.
The number of new cases in the county has fluctuated in the past week, with 34 on Wednesday and just 19 on Friday.
Two people died on Friday. The county reported no new deaths today.
Overall, the county has confirmed 2,973 cases to date and 190 deaths related to Covid-19.
Today, the county has 320 active cases. Forty-nine are in the hospital, though at least nine are ready for transfer to home. Four are in critical condition.
If symptoms do develop, stay home and call your doctor for further guidance, the county says. If you are elderly, have underlying medical conditions, or are immunocompromised, call your doctor early even if your illness is mild.
