SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported 192 more COVID-19 cases Saturday, as well as four new deaths and nearly another 13,000 vaccinations administered.
There are now an estimated 6,028 active COVID-19 cases in Utah with the Saturday update. Utah’s “people over people” positivity rate remained at 6.7% and the “tests over tests” positivity rate at 3.9% for the third straight day.
Three of the four deaths reported Saturday were not hospitalized at the times of their deaths, the health department reported. They were:
- An Iron County woman between the ages of 25 and 44
- A Salt Lake County man between the ages of 45 and 64
- A Utah County woman between the ages of 65 and 84
The fourth was an Iron County woman between the ages of 65 and 84 and a resident of a long-term care facility, according to the health department. There have now been 2,301 Utahns who have died from COVID-19 since March 2020.
The health department also reported 143 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, which is a slight decrease from Friday. Forty-nine of those hospitalized for COVID-19 were in an intensive care unit.
Another 12,944 vaccines were administered, according to the Saturday update. With that update, 1,481,372 Utahns have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 1,213,200 are considered fully vaccinated. The state estimates 57.1% of all eligible Utahns have received at least one dose and 46.8% of eligible Utahns are fully vaccinated.
