Dr AHMED HANKIR: Its not anti-social to unlock your life slowly – Daily Mail

There is a palpable feeling of excitement in the air that a return to ‘business as usual’ might actually be within our grasp. It’s understandable, after all, we have felt incarcerated in our homes as a result of the lockdown, waiting for what feels like an eternity to experience the joy associated with once again being free. We yearn for life to return to how it was. But my advice is to embrace normal life slowly — not in the context of the risk of spreading the virus, but because, speaking as a psychiatrist, I am concerned that rushing back into our old way of living risks harming our mental wellbeing. We need to be mindful that many of us have already sustained psychological wounds — some are grieving loved ones, others are mourning their lives as they were before Covid hit — and we may...

Stormi Webster Has Adorable Water Balloon Fight With Parents Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott – E! Online

Splashing around! From the looks of Kylie Jenner's social media posts, she and Travis Scott are having a fun-filled Memorial Day Weekend with their 3-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster. On Monday, May 31, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took to Instagram Stories to share the cute water balloon fight the family had. In one video, the "Sicko Mode" rapper could be seen filling up blue water balloons, as his little one eagerly awaited for them to be done. Another clip showed the toddler and her dad teaming up together to throw the balloons at the Kylie Cosmetics founder. Stormi adorably tried to hit her mom with a water balloon after the Houston native successfully splashed Kylie. "No, don't throw it at me," Kylie jokingly told her daughter, but the 3-year-old star didn't oblige...

Piers Morgan Mocked, Torched For Reprehensible Column Attacking Naomi Osaka – HuffPost

Piers Morgan, the presenter who famously stormed off the set of “Good Morning Britain” after criticism from a co-host, faced furious backlash Monday after he wrote a column calling tennis star Naomi Osaka a “brat” for refusing to speak to media in order to protect her mental health. Tennis Grand Slam tournament leaders announced Sunday that Osaka, 23, would be fined $15,000 for refusing to attend mandatory post-match press conferences at the French Open. Osaka had announced her decision last week, citing mental health. She withdrew from the tournament Monday, revealing that she’d battled with depression since the U.S. Open in 2018 and has had “a really hard time coping with that” as well as social anxiety.  “So here in Paris I was already feeling vulnerable and anxious so I thought it w...

Americans begin transition into post-pandemic life as more are vaccinated – CBS News

With more than 40% of the country fully vaccinated, and the seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases falling to about 12,000 per day — numbers not seen since March 2020 — Americans are revving up for post-pandemic life. The Indianapolis 500 became the largest sporting event since the pandemic began, with 135,000 fans in the stands on Sunday. But as America starts to return to normal, there are reminders the pandemic isn't over. Vietnam's health ministry says it has detected a new variant that appears to be a hybrid of the India and U.K. COVID-19 mutations. "It's more infectious and divides more rapidly," said Dr. David Agus, CBS News medical contributor and a professor of medicine and engineering at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. "I think all of the data poi...

Matt LeBlancs Friends reunion pose has Irish Twitter laughing, looks like typical Irish uncle – USA TODAY

Matt LeBlanc's smiling, arms folded couch pose during "Friends: The Reunion" has Ireland claiming the star as their own. Irish Twitter ran wild with the LeBlanc image over the weekend, following the release of the HBO Max reunion special Thursday, comparing the 53-year-old actor to everyone's favorite Irish uncle. "Every Irish family has at least one of those uncles or great uncles – extreme salt of the Earth characters, full of dry wit and just a drop of cynicism," Twitter user @noclarity74 wrote, explaining the social media discourse over LeBlanc's pose. "Matt looks like a typical Irish uncle in the photos from the reunion from his (folded) , to his facial expressions." In a Perfect World, 91-Year-Old Clint Eastwood Would Keep Shooting Forever – Yahoo Entertainment

There’s no putting Clint Eastwood out to pasture. Clint turns 91 today, and it’s worth celebrating the fact that this Hollywood legend is still turning out work at a faster clip and higher quality than practically anyone in the business. Granted, prolific doesn’t always mean better, and it can be frustrating to see his fans greet every new film as a fresh masterpiece, when only a fraction of them truly deserve the title. But consider that since the turn of the century, he has given us 17 films including “Mystic River,” “Million Dollar Baby,“ “Letters from Iwo Jima” and “American Sniper” (the latter earned more than half a billion dollars, baby). More from Variety Four decades ago this year, Eastwood made his directorial debut in “Play Misty for Me,” and for a time, he was dismissed as on...
