Kacey Musgraves and Husband Ruston Kelly Announce Divorce – E! NEWS

Kacey and Ruston's love story began when they met at Nashville's iconic Bluebird Cafe. In previous interviews they both stated that it was essentially love at first sight.  "Ruston played his first song, and I was just stunned by everything in it—the words, the melody, what he was saying. I was just sitting at this table, crying," Kacey recalled to People.  After his performance she introduced herself to her future husband, who previously told Texas Monthly that his first impression was, "This is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." Not long after, Ruston proposed to Kacey on Christmas Day 2016. "I didn't say yes...I said HELL YESSSS!!" she wrote on Instagram at the time. "Last night, the best man I've ever met got down on one knee in my little pink childhood home..in the same room I...

Maren Morris Deletes All Photos of Son After Ryan Hurd Defends Her From Mommy Shamers – E! NEWS

Maren Morris is no longer sharing photos of son Hayes Andrew after the country singer came under fire from mommy shamers. This week, the new mom shared a picture of herself holding her 3-month-old son on an inflatable raft on a lake while sipping on an alcoholic beverage. She captioned the photo, "Motor-floatin'" However, upon posting the picture numerous people commented to ask where Hayes' life-vest was.  Morris' husband Ryan Hurd reassured the critics that Hayes does have two life jackets, but he wasn't wearing them. He added, "I'd like to say, my wife usually doesn't need me to defend her, but she's a great mom, and my kid was not unsafe on a float in 1 feet of water being held by an adult with 5 people watching so she could get a picture." Nonetheless, Maren deleted the photo from he...

Saroj Khan, Choreographer Who Made Bollywood Sparkle, Dies at 71 – The New York Times

Ms. Khan was born in that room, the first of six children. She recalled dancing with shadows there as a toddler, fascinated even then by what would become her calling. To supplement the family’s income, her father managed to get her work in Mumbai’s booming film industry as a child actress at the age of 3, under the name Saroj. She had small roles in a number of films before becoming a background dancer at age 10, appearing in the classic “Howrah Bridge,” starring the actress Madhubala. Soon afterward, Ms. Khan’s father died suddenly. In a 2012 documentary, “The Saroj Khan Story,” Ms. Khan described how her mother struggled to feed her and her siblings, and how they often went to bed hungry. On the eve of the Diwali holiday, Ms. Khan worked up the courage to ask the matinee star Shashi K...

August Alsina Stands By His “Truth” After Jada Pinkett Smith Denies Relationship – E! NEWS

August Alsina has spoken out after Jada Pinkett Smith denied his claim that Will Smith gave the two adults his "blessing" to be in a sexual relationship. He took to Instagram on Friday afternoon to discuss the he-said, she-said, all the while never mentioning Jada or her husband's name. In the long post he covered many topics and ideas, including tradition and perception, but in sum, August doubled down on what he says is "his truth."  He wrote in part, "I get it; not only do i get it but I'm also sorry you feel that way, BUT, The only attack here is against the invisible walls of silent societal construct and 'code' we place upon each other & upon ourselves hidden behind the desires of others approval & acceptance."  Alsina added that he thinks "Truth & Transparency makes us ...

U.S. Coronavirus Cases Are Rising Sharply, but Deaths Are Still Down – The New York Times

Numerous states recently began reopening their economies, which might be driving some of the youthful bias, said Natalie Dean, an infectious disease epidemiologist in Florida, where new cases are hitting record highs. People in their 20s and 30s have returned to bars and beaches; working-age employees have resumed jobs that cannot be done from home. “We know that’s high-risk,” Dr. Dean said. “We’re hearing a lot of reports of clusters being linked to these places” as they open back up. At the same time, elderly individuals, as well as those with underlying health conditions thought to exacerbate Covid-19, may be warier of exposure, said C. Brandon Ogbunu, a computational biologist and disease ecologist at Yale University. “Early on, this disease ripped through older populations with such ...

Hydroxychloroquine is effective in treating COVID-19, says Henry Ford Health System study – MLive.com

DETROIT, MI — A new study from the Henry Ford Health System may provide more legitimacy on the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. Henry Ford published the peer-reviewed study on July 1, using a large-scale perspective analysis of patients from March 10 to May 2. The study looked over 2,500 hospitalized patients from the Henry Ford’s six hospitals, said Dr. Marcus Zervos, division head of infectious disease for Henry Ford Health System. He said the health system wanted to investigate hydroxychloroquine because data showed that it had some clinical benefit and that it could reduce the inflammatory response in COVID-19 patients early in the pandemic. “We thought that it would be important to us, or potentially important to use in our patients, (because) we didn’t have any other o...
